Sugar and Stone
The Candy Chronicles is a gritty and heartfelt Urban-Pop Rock musical featuring kids from the South Bronx. At its core is Carley, a sharp-witted young hustler with big dreams and even bigger responsibilities. To help her struggling family, she opens a candy shop in her neighborhood—a bright idea born of necessity. But behind the sweetness lies a bitter reality: Carley's family is grappling with their immigration status, while her middle sister, Mia, fights to stay healthy without reliable access to life-saving insulin.
As Carley hustles to keep the shop afloat, her older sister, Heaven, warns of the risks it brings. Heaven knows that in a city where they’ve survived by staying invisible, she would rather they remain as Shadows in the City. Tensions rise, but so does Carley’s determination. Amid the trials, failures, and disappointments the message is clear: no matter how difficult life can be, there’s always a light to chase.
